JAN 17

ArebyteLASER-love child of Arebyte gallery in Hackney and more experimental installation based program curated by the wonderful Rebecca Edwards-have been kind and silly enough to ask me to complete a residency.   What’s more-research and work from which will form my solo show at their space in Clerkenwell come May.  HOORAY!

I’ve been tasked with responding to the very fine text Network Fatigue by Pablo Larios.  The full essay can be found in FRIEZE August 2014 feature:

Presently I’ve taken a few of the things I love most, to create THE most delicious art sandwich: David Hockney, the North and the nineties.  In the run up to the residency I will be posting an image a day based on current research into the former.  Hopefully these images will ease the leap from reality into my brain and maybe even shed some light on how I jumped from researching Hockney’s Seated woman being served tea by standing companion (1963) into the opening titles of hit children’s TV drama Byker Grove.
